I have no idea what you are assuming. (-8

I started using 'shal as a sign off because it was quicker to type.
It was never really my nickname though a few (very few) people call 
me by that name.

As for addressing me in email, 'Your highness' is preferred but
Harshal is just fine. Using 'shal works too but many people find
it awkward. In short, feel free to use anything as long as it
is not synonymous with 'idiot'.
