What we need is either less corruption, or more chance to
participate in it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am using netscape messenger 4.79 as my mail program.
My default id is VSRawat@HCLInfinet.com, but I have different
other mail ids also. Whenever I want to use a particular id in my
sent mails, I set that id in preferences and normally mails go
with that id. Except
1. In one particular yahoogroups, when I send mails with one id,
it reached there with my actual HCLInfinet id itself.
For the curious, the case is:
I am moderator of a penpals yahoogroups. I collect penpal
requests from newspapers and other sources, change my id to the
id of that requester, type the request and post.
It should appear as if that guy/ gal has posted the request to
the list, to facilitate his/ her id appearing automatically when
someone clicks reply to that mail. (I am writing PS in the mail
that the mail is actually posted by the moderator)
But this mail reaches the list with my HCL id, never with the
requester's id. What is happening and how to solve it.
2. I had subscribed to some newsletters and I want to unsub now.
This particular mutual fund newsletter was subbed with
MailAndNews.com id.
To unsub, I change my id to MailAndNews and post to unsub id
given by the list. The mailandnews id is correctly appearing in
>From of this header (posted to me by the owner of the list
expressing problem) but the hcl id is somehow also appearing in
the return-id, and the owner says he can't find hcl id in the
member thus he can't unsub me. The header sent by the owner is
enclosed.
Why is my hcl id appearing there? How to solve it.
I have not given my username or any other id in netscape
preferences.
