I think foot in the mouth is a scenario when a person speaks
something which brings an awkward situation for him or the others
present. Often he does not even realise that he has made a mess
even after saying it.

In sunsign by Linda Goodman, it is said to be a characteristic of
sagittarians, those who are born between around 23 nov to 22 dec.

It is said that literature is the mirror of society. It reflects
what is actually happening. Often, it does pick something from
routine life and sheds a new light, a new angle in it. Thus the
connection with reality is there.

I am saying the above on the basis of my observations in novels.
Nowadays they are writing about separation/ divorce etc as if it
is as natural as falling in love, getting married, rearing
children. This emphasis was not there about 10 years ago. And it
is mentioned not not just in west, but european and russian
countries also. Yet, this is not shown as happening in India. Of
course, my sample size is the novels I read.

Another aspect is the availability of teacher to those who are
ready to learn. That is the most frustrating experience when you
are curious about something, wish to explore it and can not find
a good source or teacher to learn from.

And that is the greatness of a teacher. He has to keep him
equipped with the latest and accurate knowledge. He has to keep
refining his methods and tools so as to expedite learning. And he
must advertize also so that people come to know about his/ her
resources.

That is why good teachers are put even higher than god.

For last 8 years, I have got a deep interest in topics like
healing, subconscious mind, creativity, imagination, awareness,
conscience, supernatural, out-of-body, hypnotism, dowsing,
acupressure, acupuncture, tarot, body-mind, time-travel, and the
likes. I have read tons of books and got some idea, but I am
still far away from being satisfied. I have attended trainings on
Hypnotism (Dr Pradeep Agarwal-Calcutta, Dr Sajan Gilani-Baroda),
Reiki (3A level), Pranic healing, Raj yoga by Brahmakumaris, Art
of living... Now I have reached a stage when available literature
does not add anything new to my knowledge and I thirst for more.
Request people to send more info on any of these topics.

Net and mailing lists are a heaven sent help in that. I realy
envy future generations how fast and versatile they will grow if
they explore net for the fields of their likings transcending
chatting, porn, webcam.

Reading your mails in last month, I am sensing that you might be
relating with people and issue only on intellectual basic, not
answering the emotional aspects. If it is so, you might work on
this aspect and concentrate more on emotional aspects of person.
Once that "solidarity", that "trust", that "rapport" is made,
only then someone else will listen to you and even follow your
advice. Have you read and understood things on Empathic
listening? That is the key to emotional link-up. Search on net or
bookstores and explore its applicability to your mind and life.

Of course, there are some persons in the thick of selfishness on
whom nothing will work. They will treat you and others as utility
thing, get their things done, and leave you to manipulate and
exploit someone else.

It is basically the outcome of our education system and
competitiveness which has become all incompassing. Youth learn
that they have to put the other person down if they want to rise
above him. Of course they could have worked inward in raising
their own capability so that they could have risen above others.

When I observe that a person is too selfish, I stop working on
him any further. I expose his selfishness to him by describing
his behaviour. Some learn, some don't. Thus success is not always
there. It depends on teacher as well as the learner.
