So act that your principle of action might safely be made a law
for the whole world. -Immanuel Kant, philosopher (1724-1804)

A similar decision may be taken next week in an Aspen, Colorado (USA)
elementary school because parents are concerned that teaching yoga
would bring religion into the classroom. They were especially
concerned that the chants that would accompany the physical
exercises were religious chants.

This yoga program has not been cancelled and the school has set
up a meeting to discuss this and try to clear up any doubts. The
program will continue based on the community feedback.

With my toungue firmly in my cheek, I suggest that maybe the
English Vicar and the Aspen school should look at Christian Yoga:

I can't imagine the need for something like this but dimissing yoga
because of its connections to Hinduism is like throwing out the baby
with the bathwater. There are tons of benefits that yoga provides and
it would be very useful to adults and children alike. This New York
Times article shows how yoga classes in San Francisco and Los
Angeles schools have benefitted the students.

BTW, why don't schools in India teach yoga?
