Or they rightly feel that what they do in their bedroom
is no one's business.

When the purpose of such a probing survey is unknown and 
anonymity not guaranteed, you should be glad to get even 4
responses. 

Being liberal or modern does not mean revealing one's most 
personal feelings and choices to all and sundry.

You probably meant 'temples of Khajuraho' instead of 
'caves of Ajanta' because the Ajanta caves are Buddhist caves
depicting the life of Buddha.

Anyway, your conclusion is partly correct but it is based on
faulty inferences. Yes, Indians do not discuss sex openly. 
But this is not why no one responded to your questions. I bet
that most of the list members have a very open mind about sex
and communicate about it with their partners but chose not to 
participate in the survey because they do not like to reveal
their intimate details to some stranger.
