[nukkad] A reverent query

Why is it that whenever we utter the name of Prophet Mohammad, it has
customarily to be suffixed by "Peace be unto Him". Christ and Ram are in no
need for invocations of peace for them. On the other hand, they are apostles
of peace themselves; their very presence, even symbolic, even their thought,
beckons peace. There must be some reason for this differential situation.
Can any one throw light?
