       Apparently it does seem that you had a bad day. I
must say that i do second your views about the community you mentioned but
I see no semblance of what you have written to anything that Azim bhai  had
adressed.

Dear Sean,
You are relatively to new on this forum. In several hundred letters Azim has
put on this list, he has never mentioned, nor implied that there can be some
good ministers. Every where, in every walk of life, in every occupation,
there are good and bad people. By his standards of judgement, one can
generalize that every actress who acts in a movie sleeps with the director !
Only a person of nervous constitution will look only at the negative side
(and for hundred times)and not even least bother to appreciate when it
requires to be done. One got to be even headed, or one is biased. You may
believe it or not, but one's personal situation and immediate environment
plays a high role in firming up one's belief systems. You will not find
prosperous Jains, Parsees for e.g. grumbling now and then about governments.
If they criticize wrong moves, they praise too generously when situation
demands.

Hindu people who had converted  to Islam during the late 15 th to 18th
century because the people who called themselves Hindu had outcaste them,
declared them untouchables and denied them the right to live.Islam on the
other hand preached fraternity  which was indeed a blessing for such
people.
So much for Hinduim.

I agree Hindus missed out a lot in the past. Their ugly treatment to their
brethren is half the cause of mass conversions to other faiths, chiefly
Islam. The other half was done by threat, intimidation, allurements,
enticements such as pardon of crimes and punishments, high posts in
governments, allocation of free jagirs (land) etc. to the new converts. I
can justify this by citing another example of spread of christianity in the
sub-continent. Christian faith hardly succeeded to convert 2% population,
not because it is any inferior faith, but because it did not resort to
ruthless methods ( save Goa, only to an extent). It has relied upon
upliftment of the down trodden with dedication alongwith ofcourse, certain
incentives.
Had my Jain community betrayed me, I too would have taken to either of these
religions.
The fact that no Indian convert is even bothered to revert to his/her
original faith amply justifies that Hindus are still a low quality lot and
as a community hold no attraction to them.
People belonging to other Indic versions like Sikhs, Jains, Budhists or
Parsees often feel that theirs is a lot better than janata Hindu masses.
On the Nukkad too, you can observe that in a jealous manner Hindus pull each
other's legs and are in a race to outdo each other.
At the present quality level, even if they are 10 billion they can't put
forth no good show.
