Bhai, why stop at this? Why not ask hindus whether they observe all 
Ekadashis, Janamastami, Ram navmi, Lord Chaitanya's appearance day, etc and 
fast on those days?

You will notice that in Kaliyuga, the present age in which we live, because 
it is the age quarrel and hypocrisy, many people either cannot (because of 
health reasons) or will not (because they are not very religious) observe 
fasts and perform other religious rites on these Holy days.
