Bharat has hit the nail on the head.

I have a guy here working in my office.
His family is Brhamin and no one in his house eats non veg i.e not even eggs
or no alcohol
But here in the US this guy eats chicken and drinks beer like there is no
tomorrow.

Claiming that your religion is good is fine.
Following it in the manner prescribed is another.

Definition for Hindus of their religion is that I will obey it in my house
but outside I will
do what I want. I will drink, smoke, eat meat(one of my friends eats beef
and sees nothing wrong in it) have 
a merry time but in the morning I will wash and wrap myself and walk to the
temple barefeet and display the 
greatness of my religion.
