Could you ask him now?
I wonder whether he had a group of friends who have been

Marathis also have a peculiar method of doing it.

They make twenty or twenty-one laddoos (sweat balls of
dough), out of which one is salty and rest all are usual
sweet.

They start eating them one by one, and whenever they
encounter the salted one, they stop eating and feed the
remaining sweet ones to a cow.

mind you, it may be twentieth laddoo that is salted, it
maybe the very first laddoo that is salted.

any they do it for several days.

Hope some GHAATII / KADHII explains it better. :)
