There may be many who have not read in full the Gita or the Ram
Charit Manas or Bible [New Testament] or David Copperfield or
Godan or My experiments with Truth or Discovery of India. By any
reckoning, each of these is any time probably greater as a work of
literature or culture than Gone with the wind, though comparisons
are odious. I have read all of the above, and would like to read
many more, except that we read what happens to be available at a
time, along with time itself!

Is it so that with age growing above 30, your more involvement in day to day
life viz a viz your occupation, family matters, finances etc., you tend to
lose your liking for books novel ???
In my case, the once hard core interest in novels, both English and Gujarati
started losing its grip on me and things earthly and material took priority.
Admit since 1992 I have read a few novels, but never completed from first
page to last. I am 50 today.
My view is, with age, most people come out of the clouds that a novel takes
you onto and understand to compromise with the soil of the earth.
