MOTHER UNCLEAN

Mother dear, when you periodically bleed
Keep away from us, for you are unclean

Feed us and clothe us and keep the house
But when you run gore, make sure you are not seen.

There's no place for you at the household shrine
Nor at worship in the temple, and at rituals pure

Nor at weddings and havans and Godly rites
For your motherhood in His presence does not endure.

You are so dear to us when in states which are clean
But you insist on bleeding, which makes you mean

We men are God's own children in cut on His image
Whereas you and your daughters are beasts in a cage

A day will come when men's prayers will be heard
And God will make you cleansed of this infernal sin.
