Rohit bhai,

You are mixing two different issues. This has nothing to do
with killing animals for food.

Many oriental aphrodisiacs call for body parts of exotic and
rare animals like tiger bone and rhino horn. There is or used
to be high demand for such medicines in South East Asia. This
high demand led to increased poaching and decreasing numbers
of these endangered species. The increase in Viagara consumption
will hopefully help bring back large herds of these increasingly
rare beasts.

Most of the animals killed for food are raised for that specific
purpose. It does not make their life any less valuable but
let's face it - there are many more chickens than there are rhinos.
And try as one might, it is naive to expect the entire world to
turn vegetarian.

This is not a vegetarian vs non-vegetarian discussion. It is a
modern-medicine-unexpectedly-helps-rare-species issue.

I guess seeing the discussion turn to an unrelated topic is an
unintended consequence of posting on 'nukkad'. (-8

Regards,
Harshal
