Please, Allah, leave us alone to cry and weep in peace. From behind the
veil, 
beyond public gaze we want to cry till we cannot cry any more. This is the

It is truly pathetic... the plight of women... who are used, abused and 
discriminated against under the guise of some laws/rules in Islam put forth some 1400 odd years 
ago and many of which are not only reduntant but totally irrelevant and discriminatory
in todays' time and age and have no justification for their existence whatsoever.. 

their only justification is that probably.. no one has had the balls to point out this fact.. 
or if so done..then no one has had the balls to do something about it.. 

I think a lot of it also stems from the fact that Islam has no Central authority...
There are hundreds of sects all having their own leaders.. 
and MOST of these so called leaders (mullahs) have no interest whatsoever in 
changing these so called laws / pointing out their irrelevance bcoz 
either, it would directly result in a decrease in their hold over the people who follow them.. 
or they no not have the gall to say that there is something written 1400 odd years ago
which is IRRELEVANT today.. 

I think lots of communities / sects who do not live in the past have re-interpreted a lot 
of these tenets to inline them with life ..as it exits in todays world.. 
But of course.. people who want to misuse these outdated beliefs still continue to 
do so at will..and with the authorization of blinkered mullahs with their own vested interests 
in mind..
