Nukkies...

If you cannot be proud of your own faith can you respect yourself?

Kudos pour out to Jags, Farook is criticised .. I think the whole thing is 
blown out of proportion. The status of women in any i repeat ANY religion is 
based on just two points. The education level in that family first and then 
teh scoiety.

How well do Hindus's treat their women?

I know I am going to recieve more than the average amount of abuse for this 
but let me draw attention of all those who have accused other religions as 
being primitive etc.

I have read of Hindu widows who are dumped in Varanasi where they have to 
eke out a living singing bhajans. If they do not show up for teh bhajan 
session they starve. Of course the younger ones are forced into being 
mistresses to those in charge and after having served their masters needs 
even pushed off into prostitution. Is this something to be proud of?

Some time ago many Tamil widows (in rural areas)  were forced (or felt 
obliged to) to collect cowdung that would be used to fuel their funeral 
pyres.

Now look at dowry deaths. 90% of those sacrificed a the altar of dowry are 
hindu women.

Female infanticide is highest n Hindu homes.

And you still feel you can point a finger at women in Isam?

Think again. It is the status of women in most of India that needs to be 
thought of.

Farook being a kerlaite is right women enjoy the same status in all 
religions in kerala and often even higher.
