This thing has gone on for far too long on nukkad. Without any purpose or visible outcome. My comments are as follows:

1. God may exist or not. Religions may be trash or not. One man’s religion may be rubbish for another.God and people exist just in the mind. But, humans exist exist in flesh and blood. So, religion and god are imagination or fiction, humans are not. God and religion might be non-fact; humans are fact. Existence of god and their nature and characteristics might be debatable, but not the existence or nature or needs of humans.
2. Whenever there is potential or real conflict between or vagueness about two entities, an entity with a firm and clear existence has to be preferred against the other.
3. In the above background, men have to be given precedence over religion.
4. We have a situation of conflict between islam and followers of islam. In other words, between what the principles of islam state and what the majority of followers of islam do. [Here, the context is deprivation of human rights to muslim women].
5. In the above conflict, actual woes of living muslim women cannot be brushed under the beautiful carpet of islamic principles. The proof of the pudding lies in its eating, not the excellent, exotic recipe which the cook purports to have followed.
Conclusion: We cannot eat the cake and have it too. Muslims almost all over the world cannot violate natural dictates of conscience, which is what the human rights of women essentially are, and, having violated them, state that there is nothing whatsoever the wrong because they are followers of islam and islam has highly noble principles and “Islam NEVER discriminates against women .” [to quote Farook].

I have tried to use language which does not hurt anybody’s sensibilities. Still, if someone feels offended, I am sorry. However, I would request to the person feeling offended not just to spew venom, but to make his point in clear, straightforward words.
