There is some talk on criticizing as if this prequalifies a person as being
"objective" !
Criticism for the sake of criticism is futile.

Also , in order to criticize  , one must have  certain degree of in-depth
knowledge about the subject . I do not think I have such in-depth
knowledge and so I keep off that exercise.

But I have to insist that islamic teachings too emphasise respect for women
. Doubts may be cleared by verification. Good translations of the holy Koran
are easily available.
Ignorance may have led some folks to mis-interpret or mis-understand the
original arabic text of the holy Koran.
Somehow there seems to be an impression with some Nukkies that I have been
trieng to defend atrocities committed on muslim women. On the contrary. No
human rights violation can be defended , no matter what the faith !

All I can say for sure is that there are folks out there who are hell-bent
on creating tensions in the society under various pretexts  including
communal . Assuming you are not one among them , it may be wise  to keep off
their influence. It would be easier to do so , if one were to study the
various religious teachings of interest from original texts or its approved
translation and avoid  generalizations .

Please do not feel that I am "preaching" or "advicing" for which I
am not qualified. All I am doing is expressing myself as best as I can on
the topic discussed.
