---------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have learnt silence from the talkative, toleration from the intolerant, and kindness from the unkind; yet strange, I am ungrateful to these teachers. -Kahlil Gibran, mystic, poet and artist (1883-1931) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Gujarat is a harbinger of things to come. You might think so in your infinite wisdom but allow me some room to differ. > If it is > taken to its > logical end, muslims will have NO place in India, > either they will > be killed like jews in Germany or flee. I fail to see how you would come to this conclusion. Muslims in India are nowhere in the similar position as Jews were in the post WW-1 Germany. I suspect that yours is a visceral reaction, when need of the hour is a cerebral one. > We better > start searching > for our own Israel. Who is we? Ideally there shouldn't have been such a thing as a "Muslim" reaction, but since there is, and I can't come up with a better term to characterize it as such, I would rather have a Dr. Kagalwala speaking for the community than a Mubashir. If I am not mistaken, Pakistan was supposed to be an "Israel" wasn't it? Given the position of some of the demented Hindutva extremists that as long as there are people with extra-national loyalties, there will be people looking for their own "Israels"; are you looking to convert more people to that point of view? > If they don't have anywhere to > go, there will > be a civil war. If self-preservation is an instinct that you possess, and you have the wherewithal to project what such a course of action would result, then it should be obvious that this is entirely counterproductive for all the agents that are party to this project. Just one question, a civil war to what end? There is nothing civil about a "civil war", and given the preponderance of the opposition, it won't be much of a war. I do not condone what happened in Gujarat, even if it was in reaction to Godhara. Even from a "Hindutva" point of view it was a case of cure being worse than ailment. Do you propose to spread the malignancy so that we have our own little Mai Lai on a national scale? > Any way it is going to be a tragic > for all > Indians. This is going to happen in our life time. Not very optimistic are we? And I was voted the most pessimistic person for my graduating class. __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful.
