[nukkad] PM on Godhara

The PM has made a statement. It is given below. I agree with the statement.

I think it was improper for Prime Minister of the Country to have made such
a statement. 

You quoted the PM as having said : "Why didn't many people of the Muslim
community condemn the Godhra  incident? Even today, there is no repentance
that WE COMMITTED A MISTAKE or that this should not have happened and that
it was a crime,"  (Capital letters by me for emphasis)

"We committed a mistake'? Who?  Muslim community? How can PM of the country
hold the entire community responsible for the crime of a few hundreds? 

And what does he expect? Condemnation statements from everyone of the 110
million Muslims? If Shahi Imam of Juma Mazjid or Syed Shahabuddin did not
condemn Godhra incident, does it mean that entire Muslim community approves
the incident? Had he named specific leaders who did not condemn the
incident, it could have been taken as a move to expose fanatic elements
within the community. But a generalized comment like this was uncalled for.

As Prime Minister of the nation, Vajpayee should have avoided such sectarian
statements.
