Guptaji, I belong to your Alma Mater. I did have a chance to read Hindu law
as part of study of law between 1989-92. I have an LLB degree from Delhi
University. My knowledge of law is somewhat rusted due to 4 years of partial
and 7 years of total disuse and total absence of reading material and
reference books at the place where I work. I rely on my memory and little
else, when I speak of law. So kindly excuse the errors in my recollection
and interpretation of law. Please don't take such errors as a reflection on
your alma mater.

I know I can't take on a practicing lawyer on matters of law. But this
discussion with you is really helping me to remove some rust from my law
education.

Even with my rusted knowledge of law, I still have disagreements with your
interpretation and opinions. At a couple of places you may be factually and
legally wrong. I don't know how kindly Harshal or other Nukkies will take a
long-winding discussion on Nukkad about fine points of law that interests
none but the lawyers.
