Yes Rawatjee it's possible...

The OCR technology is pretty advanced it can identify any script you
want it too, even Devanagri, atleast I have tried it once, it was a pain
though, since eventhough it recognize the characters well, it makes the
odd mistakes between e & a and so on, resulting in an tedious
proofreading exercise...

But in all it's a blessing in disguise, well rawatjee why only Gone with
the Wind, if you have the time and the patience, you can scan up the
entire Encylopedia series if you want... sky is the limit...


Also if you have seen each publication comes with the typeface
information, so even published matter is preety much standard... the new
frontier in OCR is the handwriting...

So do read up on the net, there lot of articles and white papers on the
subject... 

Presently Microsoft Office XP/2002 offers OCR, and it runs pretty well
on Windows 98 too...
