Well lets go back in History first. maharashtra happened only in the 60's, Bombay was there even before so just like the Brits Got the islands of Bombay in Dowry, from the Portuguese, Maharshtra got it as alimony when they divorced Gujrat!

I generally read a letter very clearlty and well before I sit down to write a reply, but i think a cursory glance at the Myjo mail was enough for me to say, "Chayla Baap ka raaj kya....

Bombay enjoyed a fairly independent status from teh rest of teh state being islands essentially. Most of the "Mahatrastrians" whom Balasaheb calls upon to do much of his dirty work, come from the chawls of Lower Parel ooops Upper Worli!! and Dadar etc. and these are "Sons of the Soil sure but more their soil is more the "tambdi maati" of Kolhapur and parts south  than the grit and grime of mumbai so are those immigrants too??? and are u proposing to tax them too? And will we Malbaris be allowed to charge Maharstrians special VAT on Nariyal Paani's or the Bhayya for his Bhel or will you guys revert to Junka Bakri? Which brings nme to an interesting point wasnt the Jhunka stalls a big scam too? choice location sto the chosen few to sell subsidised JB now sells everything but JB?

And for the fact that u talk of taxing  immigrants to Mumbai, do u Joghlekar Saheb pay a tax in the US as an immigrant? Or are u more American than the Americans???

Its easy to split a country based on linguistic differences pal but if u do that u'd find nobody to run you stock exchange, no one to drive the cabs, u might have a whole bunch of mill workers with no mills to work in, so stop being such a racist our country has no time for peopl like that!

There would hardly be any reason then for all the Milkmen of UP who live inGoregaon and parts North to supply milk, or Malayalee nurses to work in Hospitals or Punjabi carpenters or Gujrathi Stockbrokers to push your stock  teh list goes on, be grateful that you have benefited from people who have offered their specialist talents to make your life better!

Why else would a Manglorean Policeman (Ribeiro) chase a Tamilian gangter (Vardarajan Mudaliar) out of a city that nietehr belonged too?
