Re:RE: [nukkad] Re[2]: [nukkad] Pollution and immigrants

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tip of the day: Re-use your plastic bags.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mr. Milind/Mr. Pankaj,

I write in support of Myjo

Nobody is a guest here. everybody comes here on business. I am not here making a
reference to white collared , honest tax paying salaried class.even though they
too may be immigrants. I am referring to the business community and the traders
and the hutment dwellers who use the resources and infrastucture paid for by the
salaried class and evade income tax by not declaring their income. So they are
enjoying on two fronts.

No point getting sentimental.

Even if Mumbai does not impose additional tax - even if mumbai enforces strict
regulation on tax evasion on traders, business community, spare part dealers,
scrap dealers, filmi duniya, and chota mota shop owners ( most of whom are
immigrants) that will swell up the Govt. coffers.
Usa is very selective about the its immigrants. Only produvtive members who are
scanned thoroughly are allowed to enter the country. So every one who enters USA
is a contributor.
But unfortunately Mumbai cannot do the same.
So no sense comparing USA and Mumbai.
In USA it is not so easy to evade taxes so every one pays for the infrastructure
as per his capacity (income).

Unfortunately all Nukkadites seem to be white collared salaried class so they
have taken offence and affront.

I repeat that everytime the Govt. comes out with some scheme to control this
infiltration someone brings a stay in court Eg. Hawker menace, slum policy, old
vehicles being banned and shifting of polluting industries.

Taking a soft approach and a middle of the road approach is not going to help.
You have to be harsh and take some bitter steps to curb a collapse.

And what's wrong in developing other areas to stop infiltration. Why should
other states for ever be burdens to the Govt, while some states only contribute.

Regards
Indira.
