My statement is reproduced below--

Whosoever this Jyoti Punwani is, she / he is intelligent enough to be a
 correspondent for the Times News Network, and, even though she swears by
the
 Indian Constitution, is ignorant enough, or chooses to be ignorant, about
 Article 44 of the Constitution, titled "Uniform civil code for the
 citizens", the implementation of which is being opposed solely because of
 resistance of one group of citizens, namely, Muslims, in the 59th year of
 our Constitution. [Year ONE was 1949].

 A careful reading of the above would show that the year of marriage of
anybody is irrelevant to the generic and general statement that [paraphrased
for sake of simplicity] states that the implementation of Article 44 is
being opposed (even) in the 59th year of  our Constitution [meaning,
thereby, even after such a long time, in 2008].
