At present the BEST free antivirus and firewall are Comodo Firewall and Comodo 
Antivirus. Both are lifetime free. The firewall does ask a few questions but if 
it wouldn't it would be a poor piece of software. Questions can be minimised by 
setting different modes. Feel free to ask me questions if decide to install 
these.
Personally I use Comodo Firewall (free) and my Antivirus is Avast Pro but this 
antivirus doesn't fit your requirements as it is not free. There is of course a 
free home version for Avast too. That has 1 or 2 features disabled compared to 
Pro version.
