Re: [nukkad] Virus protection--suggestions for

As mean bhai has already said, Comodo Firewall is really good. It is,
IMHO, bettern than Zone Alarm and is one of the least intrusive ones I
have seen. And yes - it works.

One has to be careful to not multiple layers of protection - sometimes
these work at cross purposes and you get less benefit than with any
one alone.

Having said that, I also like SpyBOT - nice remover of spyware and
other crapware that slows down your PC.

Lastly - anti-virus. I have AVG and Avast. I like AVG because on the
one occasion that I got hit by a virus (my fault - I was going where I
shouldn't have gone and clicked through about 3-4 warnings before I
got hit), Norton didn;t catch it. It is only AVG that got the virus.
Thereafter cleanup was a separate problem.

In short, I would endorse AVG. I also have Avast - and it has been
free for a long time now - no idea how long. I didn't realise that I
would have to pay for it after 12-14 months - I'll cross that bridge
when I come to it.

Final word of advise - having any/all of these pieces of software is
as meaningful as applying anti-biotic ointment all over your body
before going to have unprotected *** at the local red-light area. It
may protect you - but there are viruses out there that can get into
you regardless of the ointment :-)

In short - Comodo firewall, SpyBot, AVG for anti-virus.
