Are these books rare or unavailable in any library?
Maybe you should make a list of these and check with the National Library in 
Kolkata (www.nlindia.org).
If at least some of these are available, you could save yourself a lot of 
effort.

You can also inquire at the library for use of microforms to preserve these if 
needed.
