RE: Equal participation of female in the Indian society !!

Title: RE: Equal participation of female in the Indian society !!

Mr. Gajendra,

Thanks for sharing your views on this topic.
Infact after answering all my question you are admitting in the end that the atitude needs to be changed thet women are for obeying and serving. How has this thinking developed that women are their for obeying and serving some other section of the society.

1. The sex ratio in India does not show that male outnumber females by a very large margin.

2. The rate of literacy is more what is the percentage of females as to boys in any co education school today. This //%age is highly in favour of boys.

3. Women in India definitely are competitive, their is no denying in this fact and they can rise more if given more acceptability in all speheres of life.

4. You think that one can improve in personality and knowledge just by sitting home and having no good social life or exposure. How can we assume that if women don't play a sport they don't even like to watch it. Cricket here was taken as an example, if you observe any public gathering you will find women cornered somewhere and the men folk dominating anywhere in India. More public interaction and exposure sure helps in widening the thinking of a human mind. As far as I am concerned I am presently working abroad since a couple of years but was born and brought up in India and have stayed in India for more thatn 25 yrs.

5. See if all this is attitude of men, then it is very WRONG on part of those men who think women is weaker in any way as compared to a man.

Thanks anyway for sharing the views, more inputs are needed on this.

I would definitely like to know what my other friends think about this,

Rajan

rajan,

i do would like to comment on this:

   1. In most of the schools(whether in cities or villages)the number of
boys    present in a class always is morethan the girl students. Why is
this so,why   are the woment folknot allowed the basic right for
education.Don't they    have equal brains as the boys.

----------------> the simple answer is that in India, male population is
more than women.
----------------> if u study India properly, u will find that the rate
of literacy of women (in India) is more rather than men.......so it is
not the quantity but the quality which really matters
----------------> in fact if u read newspaper regularly u will find that
among toppers at various levels - 70-90 % times it is women.......i do
believe that MOST OF WOMEN are more competitive that HEAP of
men.................

   2. If you see any cricket match or a public gathering ,visibly in the
crowd   we can see a greater percentage of men and absence of women. Now
are the men of India not confident of their behaviour with women in
public or is it that the women folk don't want any external public
exposure which is very necessary for the development of mind and
personality.I think women
folk should be given all freedom to witness the public events with same
equality.things may be little better in big cities and cosmopolitans
thanrural areas, but overallwomen in India need tocome out.

--------------> i don't know that what exactly do u mean by this but it
definately has some root cause for the same............traditionally
Indian women's are more affiliated to sports which are played by women's
only..............they r not so very keen on the
topic.....................i don't think to external public exposure will
necessarily impove/develop mind & personality.............with the kind
of questions u hv put in i would definately ask one question to
u............r u an NRI who has lost its roots and knows India thru
newspapers & televisions programs ?

3.Why is it that after 50 yrs ofindependence most of the household
work is shared by the women folk, wheter it be mother, daughter or
sister.

----------> hv u been successful changing this story at ur home ?

   4. Families celebrate the birth of a boy child with more enthusiasm
than that of agirlchild, Why is thsi indiscrimation still existing.

------------> my dear rajan - pls. don't conclude with few
examples...........talk with some valid data

don't feel personally offended by the views expressed above.

the story above is also not different in most part of the
world...............not in UK & USA also.....b'coz it has been attitude
of men.

i think so that the women now is more capable for upbringing
themselves........what is really needed is changing the attitude in the
mind that women's r here to serve & obey us.........once this is out i
think so that v would definately have a better society.
