Tip of the day: Re-use your plastic bags.

Hi,
The position of women in India has improved considerably in the last
couple of decades as compared to before. Agreed, certain restrictions do
exist, but you have to realise that male domination has been a way of life
for over 2000 years.. its not going to change overnite. I mean atleast,
women are granted the same fundamental rights as men are, they are allowed
to vote, Sati was abolished. Women of today can be much more thankful then
their grandmothers or such. Even the idea that there are so many more girls
getting secondary education is pointing brighter future then before.
Girls may not be enrolled as much in co-ed schools but there are always
girls only schools. I think if a lot of the families stopped viewing the
daughter as a burden, i am not saying all do, but i do know certain ppl who
still do, that might be a bigger plus point towards women having a more
balanced role in society.
Thanks
Aditi
