ON RECEIPT OF THE PAPER
1) First look at the paper carefully.

3) Read the whole paper, it is not a waste of time.
READ THE INSTRUCTIONS

problems. Often these may carry more marks.
2) Check how many minimum questions must be attempted.
3) Answer only the required number of questions.
4) Allocate your time to each question and its subsections.
5) Commence with the relatively easy questions.
6) Failure to follow the examiner's requirements causes loss of marks
even though you may do a good piece of work.
7) If asked for a definition stick to the definition, do not give a
detailed discourse.
8) If asked to elaborate, do not restrict yourself to defining.
9) Organize your thoughts well before writing.
10) Put your ideas in writing cogently. On completion, check that you
have dealt with all parts of the question and its subsection.
11) Commence each answer on a fresh page.
12) Do ensure that there is some space at the end of each question. This
is useful when you read through the paper in the final quarter hour.
13) Avoid padding or repeating the answer to fill up pages.
14) On completion, read through the entire paper. You may discover silly
errors or omissions or repetitions, which can be corrected.

ADVANCED TIPS
1) You will know at the beginning of the paper what you will write.
There is not going to be any special brainwave during the exam of 3 hours.
So prepare a skeleton of the answer paper for the first 45 minutes, and fill
it up during the remaining 2 hours and 15 minutes. Advantage is that if you
don't complete the papers, the examiner will at least know that you knew the
header.
2) Leave margins on both the sides, large.
3) Artificially increase the length of your answers by writing in
point wise form and leave a line in between.
4) Highlight your special points.
GOLDEN RULES FOR EXAM WRITING
1) Answer all parts of the required questions
2) Never leave the exam hall before the end.
3) Time allocation for each questions
4) Proper choice of questions.
5) Order of answering of questions should be traditional i.e. 1through
