Re: [nukkad] SUGGESTION -- Honesty Is The Best Policy ??

Instead of the mechanical "happy new year" wish i suggest the
following:
ask everyone how u related to him/her during the past year and what
he/she expects from you in the future year and thereafter you try to
improvise

A neat idea... Max ! :-)

A good exercise in self-improvement. :-)
All that is needed is honesty and the ability to handle criticism.

Also another question to ask is -- do we want to be honest or do
we want to "live in peace" ??

At work... those of us who work in high-stress teams are often
shown videos on inter-personal communication.

Last year we watched a video where a camera was hidden in a
restaurant. An actor entered... sat next to a man eating at the
counter... and without saying a word... grabbed some french fries
off the man's plate.

This scenario was repeated numerous times... and nine times out of
ten, the "victims" never said a word. One could see that they were
doing a slow burn inside... they clenched their fists and glared at
the "thief" in disbelief. But they never said a word.

Later... the lesson of the video was discussed. And we learnt that
when people submerge their true feelings to preserve harmony... they
undermine the integrity of a relationship. They buy peace on the
surface... but underneath there are hurt feelings... troubling
questions and hidden hostilities just waiting to erupt.

It is indeed a costly price to pay for a cheap "peace"... and it
inevitably leads to false relationships.

Thanks and have a nice day...
-Sam.
