To do great work a man must be very idle as well as very industrious.

In response to Anna's mail

Nice to know about your profession.I have great
respect for teachers for even one lesson if inculcated
rightly would change a life.
I dont know about that member and the kind of mails
which he sent thus I can't comment on that.
Rather than being decent/relatively decent/indecent I
would like to say and support what I feel is
right, what I feel within myself and nothing else.
You have very nicely articulated the scope of
discussions on this list and it is infact more
appealing than the limited scope of "current
affairs".Thank you!!
No I dont have different people for different
purposes.
Yes, I do feel that adeherence to a certain concept is
quite essential and helps you to take a stand.Only
thing required would be that we really understand the
concept well.In that we can also appreciate the flip
side of the same and could be judicious in the
application of same.It could also be argued that no
one single concept or philosophy is a panacea to the
present problems or would do wonders.Agreed - all what
i am pointing out is that we got to understand the
true meaning of any concept before we denounce or
adhere to it.If we have that kind of wisdom,we would
be wise enough to choose/stick to/denounce any concept
or concepts in true sense.
Also one could have one or more than one concepts to
stick to,it all depends upon how one perceives
something and where does one draw the boundary line.
"Anthem" is a beautiful novel written by Russian born
writer-Ayn Rand.She always supported
capitalism,individualism,ego and virtue of
selfishness.Other books written by her are "atlas
shrugged","the fountainhead","we the
living","capitalism-an unknown idealism",etc.Do read
"anthem" and the first two books atleast. They are
simply wonderful.
Yet another thing I would like to point out is that in
life what really matters is that one should walk his
talk.
Only getting into intellectual discussions on "current
affairs",how we are being influenced/influencing the
culture/political scenario/each other/anyone,etc
doesn't mean anything. What really counts is whether
you apply your concepts, stick to your
principles, really do as you preach in real
life, etc. For that matter whther you read goody-2
things once a day/several times a day/don't read at
all,doesn't mean anything.
....Satya
