---------------------------------------------------------------------------- nukkad: Where 'you are wrong' 'no, you are wrong' co-exists with 'a/s/l?' ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----- Original Message ----- From: "samridhi bokadia" > samridhi:: > Dear Akshay may be ur sources are wrong its proved by the report published > from independent sources that the incident of Godhra was an accident that > the fire came from inside the train ,from the stoves they carry the yatries > and by Human rights watch report published just few days back said that the > massacare in Gujrat was a preplanned act by the NModi government the brutal > man . to create hatred among hindus and muslims > Wait a second here! Don't start talking about the reports and what they say. Some mention the fire coming from inside, some from outside, and others (probably some Al-Qaida kind of communiqué) from the heavens. Nothing has ever been proved or will ever be, as is the case with any other political/communal tension. So, don't use them to prove disprove anything. In any case, I think, Samridhi, you are thinking too narrowly. I don't suppose Raj is talking only about the Godhara case. While I am certain that my friends at Nukkad or any other Muslim that I know has no bad intentions, or thoughts against the Hindus--but for the ones that have been thrust upon them due to these rounds of BS--I would not deny like you that there exist people who take the flag of Islam for each of their stupid and non-Islamic deeds. I would not deny that there seem that such people are much more in the folds religion of Islam than any other today. I would not deny, too, that there are coming up such people in Hindu religion, too. I only have a problem when people attach every Hindu to the VHP kinds, and every Muslim to Al-Qaida kinds. This is stupid as well as narrow. Even so, while keeping it in perspective, we shouldn't deny ourselves the reality. And reality says: Some Muslims have a taken a large dose of inferiority complex. These people are using religion to hide their sense of inferiority. I suppose, the virus has spread to the VHP kinds as well, but let's keep it in perspective--there still are proportionally many more of such stupid people talking Muhammad than there are those talking Ram. Some people are saying things like: "It is good that Godhara fallout happened. Musalman hamesha ikatthe ho kar apne ilake mein hamesha ladne par utaro rehte the. Ab unhein aukaat pata chal gayi." While, I don't really feel such an opinion is warranted, but there had constantly grown a kind of mistrust between the two religions/communities. This has resulted in the Muslims living in their own localities, looking with a mistrustful eye any Hindu. I feel that's only the uneducated or undereducated Muslims who have fallen in such a trap, but the fallouts are too painful. Muslims, not by religion, but by culture, are an aggressive people. I am not a great reader of history, so can not comment on how they found themselves so, but I suppose, the fact that Islam has originated in difficult terrains has something to do with it. Hinduism, on the other hand, was born in India (well, at least it nurtured here, if some people have doubts about the origin.). For most part of the history, India wasn't the most difficult of region to live in. On top of that, there wasn't a well defined demarcation due to religion before the middle ages. The middle ages brought both of these, and resulted in the rise of radical Hinduism. These are difficult times for the religion as the radicalism has started to mature--to get strong, as against to get intelligent. It is high time that Muslims actively shun the radicalism, as Farook did in his post. At the same time, Hindus would be smarter for not learning the wrong lessons from other religions or cultures. I have yet to meet a radical Muslim, but I have met many radical Hindus. This might be because the educated Muslims in India know that the statistics are stacked against radicalism on their part. The Hindus, on the other hand, I am sure are taking refuge in radicalism assured by the numbers. It might also be the case of the language used by women in one of the tribes in China--they did not speak in the language with anyone else, and no man understood what they were talking. I wouldn't want to know, too. However, the newspapers continually keep reminding me. I am an optimist person. I strongly believe that the radicalism will die out. Only, let us not take part in disinformation and misformation propagandas. These are the issues which can be resolved only by education, proper dissemination of information--and not by fighting or propaganda wars. At the same time, to correct a problem, the first step is the realization. So, let us take that first step--the second, the education will not elude us for long. Best, Pankaj Ps: It might have been more than the one second I initially asked you to wait for, but the ideas are worth a thought. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ To join/leave, use the form at: http://www.mumbai-central.com/nukkad/#options This list is archived at: http://www.mumbai-central.com/nukkad/archive.html
