---------------------------------------------------------------------------- When one has too great a dread of what is impending, one feels some relief when the trouble has come. -Joseph Joubert, essayist (1754-1824) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----- Original Message ----- From: > And in some other mail you also mentioned about Triple Talaq as Bad. now as i have explained it many times let me try once again the other way round. But islamic book of law clearly stated that if somebody missused the law then he will be punished for it if not here then in court of god. so pls Triple talaq is a law just like any Divorce law it can be used for good and it also can be used for the Bad but belive me if used for bad the person will pay it some time in life or afterlife. Like we say sometimes we have to leave it on god! Azim.b Azim, while I respect your feelings, you have set foot on the bad earth now. Triple Talaq doesn't give the woman a choice, and subjugates her. Afterwards, later, afterlife--forget these terms--these are the means procrastinators use. Talk in terms of what the religion and its philosophy as followed by its people at present give to the various sections. And in that, Islam has given the woman a raw deal. Mind you, Hinduism doesn't have a text which one 'must' follow, giving it the flexibility. This is the reason that educating Hindus of the flaws in religious texts is much easier. And this is why, Hindus readily question their ideal--the most revered God--Ram, in his leaving the devoted wife at a slight provocation. Hindu Gods are much less perfect and fallible. The Hindu texts much more open to interpretation. One can question Krishna's philandering ways, and justify Ravan--the villain of Ramayan. Koran, on the other hand, is the word of God--it's to be taken as is and not interpreted. If I were a religious nd, I would much rather be a Hindu than any other religion, simply because it gives me so many choices. Hinduism has had protected and put forward freedom of choice and individuality much before the westerners embraced it. Personally, I believe that people are generally good and won't do bad things to other people--it is the outdated concept of religion which has held Human race to its clutches. If and when the rationality comes to prevail, we shall see a demise of spirituality from all the religions. There would be much less romance in life, then, but this is like the growing up experience the Christian children have and they realize: there is no Santa. Best, Pankaj NEVER SEND SPAM.
