In cases where the corpse has been undiscovered, the body bloats caused by the metabolism o f the bacteria/fungi/viruses. This bloating may cause a decrease in the density/specific gravity but certainly the weight should continue to increase. The bacteria except for a selected few are certainly not fastidious about their food source.
