Blood is not only thicker than water, it boils faster.

I agree with Mr Menon's reasoning..As the bacteria
(atleast anerobic ones)continue to grow even in
lifeless body, there shouldn't be a loss in weight
after the death..not atleast soon after the death.
However,I did some search on the related matter and I
got the few related articles which though dont tell
anything in detail and precisely.
There are numerous questions which cross the human
mind....
Evereything has got a source form which it
originates...whats the source of this universe or
multi-verse..how could it come into origin without a
source? Then what would be the source of its
source?then the further source...sources....where does
it all begin?where does the "beginning" begins?
Whats the source of God?WHo created God?without any
soucre!!source of that source....
Where is the end to the universe?whats beyond the
universe end?then whats beyond that
end?finally...where does it end ?does it end at all?
Even if God has created us and everything ...why does
He create at all?whats the purpose?
so many questions...endless...without any answers...i
wonder if we would ever get answers to these
questions...

22:13-14 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the
end, the first and the last. Blessed are they that do
his commandments, that they may have right to the tree
of life, and may enter in through the gates into the
city.

Stories that may be Christian urban legends:
We have run across a number of other stories that have
the general feel of Christian urban legend. However,
we have little or no evidence that they are in fact
only myths:
The human soul has weight: There is an article which
is allegedly a reprint from American Medicine magazine
for 1907-APR. 12 It describes a series of tests by
Duncan MacDougall of Haverhill, MA. in which he
measured the weight of individuals as they died. He
noted a sudden weight loss of ¨ú ounce, and ¨ö ounce
on his first two patients. The third lost ¨ö ounce at
death and an additional loss of one ounce a few
minutes later. Another lost about ¨ü ounce. He later
performed the experiment on dogs and found no change
in weight at the time of death. A search on the
Internet for the phrase "American Medicine magazine"
turned up seven hits, including one reference to the
magazine existing in 1914. 13
We have been unable to find a definitive reference to
any replication of this study by other researchers.
There are a few vague suggestions on the Internet, but
nothing that gives dates, times and results: One
physicist wrote us about an experiment done in the
19th century. A large balance was constructed that
supported the weight of a dying person on a bed. When
he breathed his last, there was a sudden drop of one
ounce weight which was attributed to the soul leaving
the body. The experiment was repeated on other
individuals with similar results.
A 1998-NOV posting to the Neurology WebForum,
sponsored by the Department of Neurology at
Massachusetts General Hospital, discussed a short
article circa 1988 about a similar experiment. It
showed that "the body unexplicably [sic] lost a few
ounces. I remember this clearly because of the graphic
they had with it of a soul leaving a body lying on a
bed (similar to the movie "Ghost"). Another posting
mentioned that "The study was a turn of the century or
thereabouts. If I recall it was reported in one of the
Charles Fort ('Fortean' occurances) books or something
like that. There was even a drawing of the bed placed
up on four sensitive scales. I have seen it several
places."
A German magazine Horizon was reported to have
published an article about a similar experiment
performed at the University of Berlin. Weight
measurement of about 200 dying patients showed that
the human soul weighs 1/3000th of an ounce, on
average. But Horizon had no record of having printed
the letter. The University of Berlin had no record of
the experimenters who were alleged to have been Dr.
Becker Martens and Elke Fisher.
A visitor to this web site reports that Sunn Classic
Pictures featured a re-enactment of this experiment in
its 1978 documentary film "Beyond and Back."
In science, a research finding is considered of little
value unless it is replicated by other scientists. We
only suspect that this is an urban folk tale. We have
no proof that it is. But it certainly "feels" like
one.

A Weighty Matter
Scientists have long wondered whether there might be a
controllable, objective way to observe the soul.
Some attempted to detect or prove the existence of the
soul by comparing a person's body just immediately
prior to and after death. One famous experiment
involved the weight of the soul ... yes, the actual
pounds and ounces that a soul might weigh. If there
were any observable, measurable weight difference
within those few moments, is it possible that the
difference—the thing that changed—could have been
caused by the soul having departed from the body?
In one very limited 1907 study, researcher Duncan
McDougall attempted to measure the soul by weighing
five patients as they died. In two of the patients,
there was a sudden weight loss of a half-ounce,
followed by another sudden one-ounce weight loss
within three minutes of the time of death. A third
patient's weight fluctuated just after death, first
dropping a bit, followed by an abrupt large weight
gain (!), then another loss. There was no discernable
change on the other patients. Needless to say, the
results were inconclusive.
