Tell me bout it. My cuz sis died of 3rd degree burns after 4 years 
of a torturous strained marriage. Both her husband and 
father-in-law were layers and ultimtely got away.

When I meet someone to discuss my sisters wedding .. a very common 
phrase i hear esp. from ppl in UP is:

"Aapka budget kya hai. We have no demands but still if you tell us 
how much you plan to spend, we will tell you how best to spend 
it."

It really pisses me off... But every time i hear about a case of 
dowry death .. i personally feel that the girls parents are as 
much to blame as the boys parents .. if thye know their daughter 
is being tortured and hurt .. why do they leave her there... I 
dotn understand this Indan obsession of trying to force a marriage 
even if it is not working ... and this is precisely what leads to 
so many girls/women dying ...

Why are Indian parents so scared of taking their daughters 
back??
