Dowry , demanded or offered , is a form of social cancer which is deadly .

In a dowry marriage the girl knows that her husband married her only because
her parents had enough money to pay .
In such a relationship one cannot look for love and sincerity . One can only
expect greed and superficiality.
In a dowry marriage , the boy is bound to lose his self- respect [ if ever
he has any ] and end up a parasite.
No social change could heal the damage done on the soul due to actions of
greed , hatred and other negative emotions. Wealth alone cannot give peace
of mind. An ailing soul is worse than any other calamity.
Boys should at least have the courage and the guts to refuse dowry in any
form and the girls should refuse marriage to a dowry dreaming sissy who
lacks the confidence to earn his living .

This change to a healthier mindset seems to be the only solution to the
menace of dowry ,
demanded or offered
