I agree with you. But,


ONE—May be an IItian does not work 10 times as hard as an AIIMS onian. [I 
happen to be one and I know through personal experience]


TWO--   Are you sure you understand that the following three terms are not 
identical and reflect differential values—arrogance; pride; self- respect? It 
is your prerogative to choose which value you adopt for yourself.


THREE—The Bihar you decry might have been not so badly off if the educational 
system in India was not skewed in favour of the English speaking minority from 
public schools. Japan, Russia, China etc. have been able to make a mark without 
English. Just as the rich rule the poor and resist taking away their riches, so 
do the Macaulay’s creations resist the indigenous ones and resist development 
of Indian languages. A hundred lotuses would then have bloomed, instead of a 
few English lilies.


FOUR—I presume it is probably your arrogance that permits you to use words like 
‘ass’ and spellings like ”and if u see a arrogant iit” in place of “and if you  
see an arrogant IITian” in this rather decent list. If my presumption is wrong, 
the implications are rather sinister!


FIVE--Ref:"so whatever we get we deserve it and i personally think we 
actually deserve more..". Please remember that you [in a generic sense] have 
not done anything to deserve all this, except being born in an environment free 
from the rigours like:

A. 30% Indians living below poverty line;
B. 200 million children not having a home--street children;
C. 40% village schools being ONE teacher schools without a single blackboard 
etc. etc.

As a matter of fact, you [in a generic sense] DO NOT deserve all this, what to 
say one tenth of this. IIT s are very heavily funded, from the taxes paid by 
the poor [yes, the very poor--even the poor pay tax on salt, matchbox, cloth,  
etc.--the invisible indirect taxes]. The afficianados of the US ought to know 
the cost of such high quality education in the country of their adulation. If 
honesty and morals could be legally binding, US worshippers would be legally 
bound to pay the cost of their IIT education in US dollars on a comparative 
scale. I guess 4 years comparable education in MIT might cost something around 
200,000 dollars, compared to 100 dollars or so in India! Will you kindly tell 
us what have you done to deserve this largesse? Except that you scored, maybe,  
98% in your 10+2? herein lies the rub. That domestic servant from bihar working 
in your neighbour's home in India just could not make it to IIT because though 
he had an IQ of 125 when he was born, it dropped to 90 because his family could 
not afford iodised salt and, even otherwise, could not have afforded his 
English education in a public school followed by Rau's study circle IIT 
entrance coaching classes. 

Sorry, if i sound rude. But, let us stick to contents of my mail and the facts 
therein. I would be mighty pleased to have an informed rebuttal.


nd, before i end, Welcome to the list! I think I have read a post from you for 
the first time.
