[nukkad] Reckoning

Each one must have gained or lost something or the other on Nukkad, else
why would they stay?

Some came to criticize, some to teach, some to be edified, some for the 
camaraderie,
some for comradeship.

Some came here like lost ships which wandered long in uncharted waters 
and found
safe haven.

Some came by accident and chose to stay. Some came by design but thought it
expedient to depart.

Some came to wax in words which had little substance. Others came to say 
little
and say that well.

Some postured in ill style and pretended to contend. Some stayed subdued 
and cared
little of what they sounded like.

Some were charming, some harming, some loud and noisy, some bemused and 
serene.

Some were homegrown, some from far away climes. Some were easily 
identified icons,
some remained enigmatic.

Some came to love, but gave little in return. Some came to be loved, and 
gave less.

Some came to hate, and did that so well that now only hate remains.

Yet all this was possible only because the doors of Nukkad remained 
open, and the
heart of Nukkad welcoming.

And there must have been, must be even now, be a cost and an endeavor to 
do that.

If the question were to be asked, "What have you gained, or lost, on 
Nukkad?",
what will you say?
