----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- > That's where my query was in the first place. What's wrong if a not-out > batsman, > given falsely out is called to resume batting even after the next batsman > has faced a ball/s ? Things like the new batsman having set himself in, having had a look in at the wicket, the playign conditions etc come in here. And rightly so. No batsman likes to adjust to conditions time and time again. That is why teams are so reluctant facing the last few overs in a day after the opposition has been bowled out with only 5 overs remaining. That is when the job of an opener becomes thankless. Of course there can be a rule for a situation where a batsman is recalled after the next wicket falls. But, from a personal point of view, I'd prefer if that didnt happen. I play a lot of cricket, and such a situation takes the life out of a match to some extent. Its doesnt feel right.
