things a norm in cricket.
Why not?

Good point. On-field umpires shouldn't have such liberties. It should be made a
part of the 3rd umpire's jurisdiction.

prevent tensions and incidents like Bhajji-Symonds and sledging of
batsmen by fielders.

because they have been doing it all their life. Typical arrogance.
Slurs do not translate well across countries. Case in point "monkey" vs
"bastard" in India. Neither do questionable strategies. Someone should remind

leg theory.

the ICC will run out of appeal commissioners within a day.
The idea of yellow/red cards should be similar to that in football. The appeal
system should be repealed. Even football infrequently gets a 'Zidane-headbutt'
or a 'hand-of-god', but cricket not being an on-the-run play, such incidents
may be less.
