[nukkad] Global Progress - Reply to Rajababu on Women Issue --In Indian context

I totally agree with S. Popli's review of the situation. I am glad that she came up with point by point refutation of rajababu and others' views.

 

Some funny solutions like puting up taxes and stuff are really odd. One thing we should remember at all the times is that by doing that we are putting our lives in the hands of a group of peaple (call that as government, if you will). A totalitarian state isn't a solution to the problems so basic. Perhaps that will solve these; but there will be induced even greater ones. Now these views are to be taken with a lot of reservation.

 

On the other hand some of popli's views are also a bit too idealistic. I don't see why people should be pressured upon for their own choices. This is something which has to come by up invigorating women's cause. The only ways is to make them equal to the men, in the goals they'd achieve and the opportunities that they get. That way only we can ensure that there won't be any cause at all for the parents to abort the girl children (I prefer to call them that, even if they are "just  foetus").
