In some extreme cases abortion might prove the only
solution especially when some serious incurable
disease is affecting the foetus and the doctors truly
believe that the baby will not survive long after
birth or will have serious handicaps, but even then
human life must be given priority as there are lot of
people with physical handicap who are leading a
healthy life.
Here the issue is that parents must be discouraged to
go for abortion just because the foetus happens to be
of a particular gender.
If couples are not ready for children they must be
provided education as to what birth control measures
are available and how effective a particular measure
can be. Moreover things like dowry must be discouraged
which will help in greatly reducing the biased
attitude of the parents towards the boy child
