Dear Nukkads,

Few days back I have posted a piece about "Be Happy" saying by - SWAMI
ANUBHAVANANANDA, which appeared in India.com!

Here you can see more explanation on the subject by Dr. M.C. Gupta! Thanks
to Dr. Gupta for giving us a good, realistic point of view of the piece!

	>Thanks, Albert, for this beautiful piece. I received it 2 days ago,
but
	 >found it a bit lengthy and found time to read it only today. The
message,
	 >as I understood it, are as follows, paraphrased in different
words:
	 >
	 >1. Our real self is not this body but the Atman, which is beyond
earthly
	 >nature. He who internalizes this fact attains eternal bliss. The
approach to
	 >do so is to develop and practice Sama-Bhava, as advised by Lord
Krishna in
	 >Gita. Sama Bhava means to treat pain and pleasure, gain and
profit, respect
	 >and insult, death and birth, all alike. In other words, not to be
disturbed
	 >by what happens around us-neither to be exhilarated, nor to be
depressed
	 >by whatever perceivably good or bad happens around us. [Those who
attain
	 >Sama Bhava attain God ---Gita 5:19]
	 >
	 >2. The above approach is to be tempered by devotion to duty. We
must always
	 >keep on doing our duty, unmindful of the possibility of achieving
success or
	 >not, unmindful too of the consequences, pleasant or unpleasant, of
our
	 >actions [as long as the actions are right, i.e., our duty or
dharma]. We
	 >should, while doing our duty, never try to influence the outcome
of our
	 >actions in a particular direction. [This is the essence of Gita 2:
47]. >
	 >
	 >The last few lines of your piece remind me of what Vinoba Bhave
said during
	 >his last few days. Shortly before his death, some one went to
Vinobaji and
	 >asked him what is wrong with the world and how to set it right.
Vinoba >simply said-My friend, nothing is wrong with the world. The world
is >alright. The wrong is within us. We have to set right ourselves, not
the >world.
	 >
	 >MC Gupta
