Hi,
Here is another perspective of the same situation.
If your reference is to the land, This land belongs to India and we
cannot cut this land from India and just give it away. If the reference to
'brother' is to the people of Kashmir, nobody is forcing them to stay in
India, they can go wherever they want to go. In fact, this entire conflict
is the result of the 'Brother' not wanting to live in the joint family. And
see where we are now, we split the house into two. But the brother(muslims
in India & particularly in Kashmir) didn't leave to occupy their share but
drove their brothers away from their part of the property. They are
occupying one room which does not belong to them. And now they want that
room to be theirs too.
This issue is not so simple as a joint family and a
brother-who-doesnt-want-to-live-together issue.
The issue is not of forcing the brother to stay in the family. That
issue is resolved by partition a long time ago. If muslims wanted a 'muslim'
nation of their own, they got it. All the hindus were driven away from
Pakistan, many slaughtered. If the partition was done to create a 'muslim'
nation, why does India have more muslim population than Pakistan. Do you
know what is the hindu population of Pakistan? The issue is of the land. And
that will not be compromised with every whim right?
I know what you will ask now, "But its not only the kashmiri muslims
that are asking that.". Believe me "No Hindu wants to go and settle in
Pakistan."
The other probably questions is, "But Kashmir is their land how can they
give it up." Well that is not a valid question too, because we, Indians
(Indians and Pakistani's together) at the time of partition and in
subsequent agreements, decided what will go to whom. Now what if the other
muslim dominated regions of India want to form their own nation or join
Pakistan? ULFA's want their own country, Sikhs wanted their own country. Do
we give it to everyone?

Do we believe that Indians can do no wrong? What Indian Goverments is doing
in Kashmir is right?Who will decide? we people sitting thousands of miles
away in comfort or the people who have been left to miserable life.
We better not let jingoism prevail. We can not force a brother to stay in
joint family if he is not willing.
