MEAN NAMES

Everyone calls everyone else something mean.

Parsis call Christian Goanese Goicha
Hindus call Moslims Musla, Mian Bhai
Moslims call Hinus Dhoti Prasad

In Pakistan -
Simdhis are called Bhau, Jatt
Hindustanis immigrants from Delhi Agra are called Makkar*
North Westeners of Pakistan are called Pathan Bhai Pista
Plains people are called by the Northerners Tidde*

On occasion and by some people -
Ahmedis, Aga Khanis, Khojas, Parsis, Christians are called Kafir*

In India -
Punjabis are called Jatts*
Sikhs are called Sardarji with the accompnied Bara Baje
Maharashtrians called Ghatis
Bangalis are called Bengali Babu
Gujaratis are called Gujjus
Christians Goanis are called Goichas
Sindhis are called Banias*
Southerners are called Ghutlis
Delhi residents are called Delhi ka Thug

Discrimination in marriage -
Bangloris rarely marry into Hyderabadi families and vice versa
Aga khani Khojas rarely marry Ishna Ashari Khojas and vv
Parsis of everywhere else rarely marry a Bombay girl
Khojas of everywhere else rarely marry a Khoja girl from Tanzania
A Parsi Behedin will rarely marry a parsi Andhiaru* priest

A little known fact -
There is a subclass amongst Parsis, the Khandias, who are absolutely
never conjoined in marriage by any Parsi, high, low, rich, poor. These
live a secluded life, condemned much like the Lepers of Thar Desert.

They give "khand", shoulder, ie they tend the dead, who are otherwise
untouchable by anyone else. In turn this makes them untouchable.

Possibly, 200 to 300 may be in Bombay, 30 or so in Karachi. The most
outcast of all cast out classes.

In the US -
Underprivileged Southerners are called White Trash
Burly insensitive folk are called Rednecks
Gays are called Fags
All Latinos are called Pedro
Italians are called Spinks
All Chinese are called Chinks
All Moslems from Sub Continent are called Pakis
Brown, Wheat colored folks are called Blacks
Wog, Wag, Spud, Twat are other less common names.

In Oman -
Everyone non-Omani is called Fasli* or Bairuni*
Another derogatory appellation is Hindi for everyone

In every country, people, ethnic group of humans
there is a ill name for someone else. This irrespective
of who is what, merits, educational level, being a good person
or ill.

As they say, "Ankhian me suwwar ka baal", the eyes have
a pig hair in it.

WHAT TO DO?
See that you don't do it, that's all. One and one make a million
million.

Meanings of little known words:
Makkar - literally locusts, because so many came over
Tidde - also locust, used in another sense
Kafir - Infidels, even when they are titularly Moslems
Jatts - an offtake on the tribe the Jats, with a single t
Banias - an offtake, also, on a legitimate tribe, Baniya
Andhiaru - what Parsi priests are called, a subsect
Fasli - seasonal, not perennial
Bairuni - outsiders, aliens
