An NRI is anyone that is of Indian Origin. Even if you relinquish your citizenship, you are STILL an NRI. In fact if someone can trace their parentage (or grand parentage - but I am not 100% certain about this) to India, they can qualify to be NRIs. 

Get your facts straight before responding incorrectly.
