Bombay is Bombay. Putting up a signboard with a marathi name does not change
anything nor does it please the Godess Mumbadevi either.
I think we chant 'Mumbai' more b'cos of the jingoistic sound it makes.
I still write Bombay in my mail address and in the city column for forms and
it will surprise you that the letters reach their destinations and no one
rejects my forms. People still call VT , VT. No one says CST and the Airport
is still referred to as Sahar.
This city is cosmopolitan in nature and one regional group should not
dictate terms to the others. The name game are gimmicks to take the focus
away from real issues.

My grandfather and father were in this city long before the Shiv Sena was
formed and when Thackeray  was still drawing cartoons for a living.
If anyone thinks we are going to let a two bit thug run us out of our homes
then they have another thing coming. And they better not try.
