ABORTION

The calm darkness is suddenly threatened
By sporadic bursts of the newly-born sun,
The rays emerge out from the embryo in the horizon,
And slowly make their way up the dark space;
Darkness hopelessly fights light, then gives up,
And honorably retires for a better time,

In my mind, however, the sun has died,
A thousand premature deaths in vain.
Dashed into the vortex of the razor sharp thoughts,
Left behind by your walking out on me.

The sunrays in my mind bleed to death, slowly,
Even as darkness stands on the chest of hope.
Trampling it and spreading gloom all over,

The hands and legs move aimlessly, my eyes
Stare sullenly at the dark room, transfixing themselves
On the closed door, closed after you walked away.

Like the closed door, my mind remains shut,
I can't see the slivers of light from the dark crevices,
This cerebral abortion has killed me,
And maimed my life,
All that's left is a sterile vacuum.
